School Board Sets Zero K-6 Open Enrollment, Approves Eight Policies

NH PITTSFIELD — School Board restricts open enrollment, sets zero K-6 capacity. The Pittsfield Board voted unanimously 5-0 to approve the capacity resolution and passed eight policies on special education programs, open enrollment procedures, parent rights notices, disability evaluation, and board ethics in consecutive unanimous votes. Chair Sandra Adams secured approval of kindergarten placement for two students in a 4-1 vote, with board member Adam Gauthier opposed.
Superintendent Dr. Tim Herbert and District Business Administrator Jack Dunn reported 1.7 million dollars in the general fund with FY26 closeout ongoing, filing a state extension moving the DOE 25 deadline to September 30. The district allocated approximately 132,000 dollars for Chromebook orders and is progressing on a 299,000 dollar SAFE Grant project targeting August 31 completion.
