Community Development Committee explores grant funding for town hall

NH PITTSFIELD — Community Development Committee pursues alternative funding after learning no USDA grants available this year. Kim O'Connell reported that the NH USDA office said no Community Development Block Grant funds are available this year, with 2027 prospects uncertain. Funding would only support projects in beginning stages, not repairs or ongoing work.
The committee ruled out recreational projects and plans to explore congressional earmarks through Representative Maggie Goodlander's office and research private foundations including the Heart and Soul Foundation and the NH Charitable Trust.
