Budget Committee hears $5.6M town and $12.2M school budgets

NH PITTSFIELD — Pittsfield Budget Committee hears budgets totaling over $17.8 million combined. Paul Colby, Selectboard Member, presented a $5.6 million municipal budget, a 14.41 percent increase driven by utilities, insurance, and personnel costs; the board seeks $679,000 for capital reserves and voter approval for a $2.6 million wastewater sludge-removal bond. Sandra Adams, School Board Chairman, presented a $12.197 million school budget lower than last year but including a $633,362 deficit article and $144,942 in new collective bargaining costs for fiscal year 26-27.
State adequacy funding is declining by $670,000 as enrollment drops 36 students.
